Glimpse of Komodo

Komodo dragon, or in the local language called "Ora" included in the reptile with a long reach 10 ft (3 m) and weighing up to 300 pounds (135 kg) makes the Komodo Dragon as the world's largest lizard. Komodo Dragon was still allied with Mossaur, the ancient lizards that lived about 136 to 65 million years ago. Characteristic of Komodo is a forked tongue like a snake and can swallow large prey whole, with a tapered head and can move quickly. Komodo dragons are fierce predators they prey on insects, eggs, birds, small mammals and carrion. Komodo dragon's mouth with a lethal bacterium, its bite can be deadly. Recent studies have suggested that the Komodo dragon at the mouth poison glands that produce venom to paralyze their prey.
Adult Komodo dragons live on the land while the young Komodo dragons live in trees and insects live. This is done so that the young Komodo dragon Komodo dragon is not eaten by adults. Komodo dragon walking on land other than an accomplished swimmer, Komodo dragons can swim away from the island, though his movements slow and Komodo dragon can move very quickly when needed. Komodo Dragon can not breed if breeding and even death. In 1926, W. Douglas Burden, from the American Museum of Natural History expedition commissioned to do and catch the Komodo dragon to bring to America. He was the one who called "Dragon". Burden returned with two komodo dragons live and some are preserved for study at the museum. Last living dragon can survive only briefly at the Bronx Zoo.
